Editorial Policy

Accuracy

We describe how things work and where the evidence is unsettled. When research is mixed, we say it is mixed instead of picking the more interesting side.

Health claims

We do not publish claims that any habit, food or product cures, treats or reverses a disease. We write about support, comfort and routine. Individual experiences vary, and we say so.

Sourcing

We do not fabricate studies, statistics or expert quotes. Where a claim reflects general scientific consensus, we present it as consensus rather than dressing it up as a specific finding.

Corrections

Errors are corrected on the page, with the date of the change noted. We do not quietly delete mistakes.

Independence

Editorial decisions are made by the editors. If commercial relationships ever affect what appears here, that will be disclosed on the page it affects.
